How I Bonded With My Sun Conure

 I love Pets, especially Dogs !! But the idea of having a Bird as a pet was something that I could never accept 🙇 I always thought Birds were annoying, unhygienic, troublesome, and could never be tamed. However, all these thoughts only lasted until Rio entered my life. Rio was only six months old when my grandfather who is an avid fan of birds bought him home. Initially, I hesitated to even go near him. 

Rio is a Sun Conure, Sun Conures are medium-sized vibrantly colored parrots usually found in South- America they usually live up to 30 years. 

One fine day while I was Walking down the hall Rio happened to fly toward me I ran immediately but his little wings were faster than my legs I could literally see him seated on my shoulders. We glanced at each other I was too scared to move, but little by little he came closer to me, as he came closer I could hear my heart pound he came close to my cheek and gave me a little kiss with his little beak. To be honest it melted my heart



For the first time, I was Okay with having Rio seated on my shoulders As time passed I started growing closer to him, well now he has become a part of my life and He means a lot to me.

I usually reach home after college around 4 pm as soon as I step inside the house and hear my voice Rio calls out for me...Rio loves the belly tickles That I give him. Every time he sees me he would come to me grab my index finger and lay down with his belly up asking me to give him tickles 💖 . He loves mimicking the voices he often comes across,  Sunflower seeds are his favorite, and he also loves sugar which we seldom give him.

His little head bobs are the cutest he usually does it when he is given his favorite food or when he sees his favorite people. Rio loves playing hide and seek he usually hides behind the cushion and waits for us to call out to him as soon as we ask "Where Is Rio ?' he comes out from behind the cushion and gives us a kiss, his favorite places are cozy and comfortable dark corners where he buries himself and sleeps.

You all might be wondering if he takes a bath well it's a "YES" .. Rio loves taking a bath, and he loves taking long cold showers "Under The Tap" of course 😂... Rio is all grown up now he is Two years old and Everyone's favorite in the household. Everything just gets better with Rio around us. Trust me there is nothing merrier than having a Sun Conure around in your house it is like "Free Therapy"  spent some time with them when you feel stressed and all your stress will go away and it really works trust me 😄
